Great Post Emma,
Have you give them a try?

I would keep secure my value things....:-)

Best regards

Ciao Enrico

Come stai?

I've not tried any of these sites myself but I've got friends who have and do it every year.

There's also an article about it here that you can read from the UK's national newspaper The Times.

Hey,I am expat and also an avid CouchSurfing member in Rome. CouchSurfing is more for travelers looking for a place to stay a few days, not if you are moving here (However each city does have a CS group that does stuff together). Maybe that's what you meant, but I wasn't sure.I don't think anyone would let you move in with them for free :) Cheers for getting the word out, it is an awesome site. I also posted about my CS experiences here! http://www.jessicainrome.com/2007/05/31/couchsurfing/
Ciao!

Hi Jessica

Thanks for your comment and for sharing your experiences of couchsurfing on your blog. It was a great read.

Sorry for not being clear in my original post. What I actually meant was what you have highlighted above. Using couchsurfing as a way to stay in a city for a couple of days while you look for long-term accommodation. Hope that clears it up!

Ciao
Emma
