Networking in Milan
Andrey Golub and I met on LinkedIn (if you want to join my network, click on that little widget in the lefhand column) back in 2006 but we've only been in regular contact since he emailed with some lovely comments about our book Starting a Business in Italy.
Andrey is one of the founders of the non-profit networking group MilanIn which has both an online and offline presence.
Their aims are to promote business opportunities both in a formal and informal environment. Eating and drinking is a big part of the club, too (well, we are in Italy). Cocktails, dinner parties, pizzas, seminars and conventions are all held regularly.
I haven't managed to meet up with Andrey yet. But hopefully the next time I'm in Milan, we'll be able to grab a coffee at the very least.
Yet another example of expats making a valuable contribution to life in Italy. Inspirational, don't you think?

Thank you, Emma,
it's a very nice article, as all your other articles I must admit!
I've also presented yesterday your project to Milan IN community, mentioned your great (on my honest opinion) book and also spoke about our "social networking friendship" in my Blog on Milan IN, where I commented on this your article.
here is the place:

thank you once again, hope to finally meet you in person soon! :)
Kind Regards,
Andrey Golub

Ciao Andrey
Thanks for your comments about the blog/articles. And on our book Starting a Biz in Italy. Really pleased you like both.
Thanks, too, for the mention in your blog.
Am definitely looking forward to meeting up soon!
